Thanks very much for visiting this draft website about a brand new idea for consumer technology collaboration: the Pensions Dashboard Operators Coalition (PDOC).

What is PDOC?


The Pensions Dashboard Operators Coalition (PDOC) is an idea for collaboration between organisations who intend to offer a pensions dashboard and have commenced their project to deliver it.

There are lots of advantages (set out on this website) of such firms working together, benefiting Government, industry, but most importantly, consumers.


Why is PDOC needed?

Very strong international evidence shows:

  • consumer feedback on dashboards, both pre- and post-launch, is essential, and
  • commercial dashboards will be, by far, the ones which consumers choose to use.

So there needs to be an efficient method of harnessing all the consumer feedback generated from the many different dashboards that there are going to be (moving from testing, through to live usage, feedback).

Best for this will be an independent, non-profit body, mirroring the practical work being done by PASA at the “bottom” of the ecosystem (think of it as an hourglass):

What’s on this draft PDOC website?

As at February 2024, PDOC is an idea. The content on this draft website has been created to generate discussion with interested parties, covering (in draft):

  • Aims – what PDOC aims to achieve, plus its proposed scope and ways of working
  • Structure – how PDOC could be constituted, and ideas for PDOC’s code of conduct
  • Membership – who PDOC members will be, plus the benefits & costs of membership
  • Plan – an initial plan for discussing, agreeing and launching PDOC in 2024
  • Consumers – explaining why consumer feedback, co-ordinated by PDOC, is so key
  • Topics – detailed descriptions of PDOC’s potential in-scope areas of work
  • Ecosystem – background information on the UK pensions dashboards ecosystem
